Time Dollar Tutoring is Chicago based technology and tutoring program serving disadvantaged and impoverished Chicago Public Schools students. More specifically, Time Dollar Tutoring is an after school peer tutoring program focused on Chicago Public Schools with a high poverty rate. We teach older students how to tutor younger students in math and reading. The reward for both tutor and tutee is an Internet-ready refurbished computer loaded with software installed in their home.

To date, we have placed more than 5,000 computers in needy homes, generated 500,000-plus hours of additional instruction time and greater than 21,000 hours of parental involvement in education, and diverted more than 450 tons of computer waste away from landfills. Furthermore, we are presently engaged in a comprehensive initiative with Loyola University of Chicago's Strategic Consulting Group, which is part of Loyola's Graduate School of Business Administration. We are working with Loyola faculty and students to develop strategic and marketing plans, grant writing capabilities, fund raising activities and an annual report.
